These are the topic addressed in this quiz:

1. Central Dogma of Molecular Biology: Know the steps to get from DNA to Protein.

  • Know the exception to the central dogma of molecular biology (we covered this in class!!!)

2. Phenotype vs. Genotype (be able to understand what a phenotype and genotype are based on our lecture today).

3. Genome sizes

4. Frederick Griffith Experiments

5. Avery Experiments

6. Hershey and Chase Experiments

For the experiments, know their basic experimental set up and the answer they were seeking in each test. For example, with the Hershey and Chase experiments, they used radioactive isotopes to determine that DNA is responsible for viral particle replication and NOT viral protein.

You will have TWO attempts.

This will be due on Wednesday night.
