GENERAL GOALS OF THE COURSE
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Write prescriptions, recall historical and legal aspects of prescription writing.
- Recall basic pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic concepts
- Utilize therapeutic skills with non-prescription drugs (OTCs)
- Apply general principles of therapeutic selection for common disease states
- Identify drug interactions, adverse drug effects
- Use appropriate counseling techniques to address common therapeutic cases
- Use case studies to apply basic principles in the treatment of disease
