In-service “Webinar” Presentations (PowerPoint Submitted to LiveText) - Week 15

Students, in teams, will be asked to provide an in-service “webinar” presentation on where you would make referrals in order to address specific client rehabilitation counseling needs. During Module 15, your team will present a 30-45 minute workshop to the class on an established institution, e.g., school, state agency, community agency, in-patient hospital, day treatment, etc. This presentation should be treated and presented as an in-service training program to a group of counseling professionals (your peers). Please include handouts, reference list, supporting materials, etc. as well as copies of power point presentations. Information for this project can be obtained via the institution’s website and/or professional interviews. If you choose to interview a rehabilitation professional at the institution, please remember, you are asking someone to take time out of his or her busy day. How you manage this assignment is a reflection of you as a professional. Please try to limit your visit to an hour or less – be prepared. The presentation should include, but is not limited to the following:

Institution name and contact information
Explain how the institution has incorporated rehabilitation history and philosophy into its mission.
Explain how the institution incorporates the various theories and models related to rehabilitation counseling.
Detail rehabilitation services your institution provides to individuals with disabilities.
Identify whether your institution is inpatient, outpatient, community-based care etc.
Identify roles and functions of rehabilitation counselors in your designated institution.
Name the preparation standards and/or credentials required by rehabilitation counseling of professionals working at the institution.
Explain how the institution collaborates with other rehabilitation counseling services networks.
